U3 Smart Drive is a special type of USB flash drive which allows to install, manage and run applications using U3 Lauchpad software.

TightVNC is a free remote control solution compatible with VNC. With TightVNC, you can see the desktop of a remote machine and control it with your local mouse and keyboard, just like you would do it sitting in the front of that computer.

TightVNC for U3 can be installed on a U3 stick like any other U3 application and allows to use TightVNC (both server and viewer) in a portable way. When run from a U3 drive, TightVNC keeps its configuration and connection history (including passwords) on the flash drive and does not use the registry of the host computer.

TightVNC for U3 is available commercially, but the download is free (30-day evaluation version):

While TightVNC itself is free, U3 loader application (a separate executable) is proprietary. We fully respect the GNU GPL and keep the TightVNC code freely available. Note that by registering TightVNC for U3 you effectively support TightVNC, our free software project.

Important note: TightVNC for U3 will not work on usual USB flash drives. You will need a U3-compliant flash drive in order to install and run TightVNC for U3.
